University Radiology Group is one of the largest, most specialized, Board Certified radiology practices in the US. In operation for more than 50 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for 8 affiliated regional healthcare centers and for our own 22 medical imaging centers. In addition, University Radiology serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 1.8 million radiology procedures per year providing 24/7/365 coverage/interpretation services.


We are adding a Senior Accountant to work with our team in our East Brunswick, NJ Business Office. The Senior Accountant reports to an Accounting Manager and is expected to display considerable initiative in meeting deadlines, as well as identifying ways to improve and/or streamline processes within their areas of responsibility. He/she maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to the organization’s policies and procedures especially those that assure the integrity of internal controls. This position will interact with members of the Accounting Department, as well as employees at all levels within the organization.                                                                                                              


In this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:
* Preparing monthly financial statements,
* Reviewing monthly bank reconciliations
* Preparing and posting bank adjustments and transfers
* Preparing journal entries
* Reviewing accounts payable transactions
* Reviewing balance sheet accounts and maintaining balance sheet account work papers
* Calculating inter-company insurance costs
* Preparing insurance applications for review
* Creating and maintaining insurance renewal worksheet
* Fixed asset data entry
* Preparing monthly asset and depreciation journal entries
* Reconciling fixed asset sub ledger to general ledger monthly
* Maintaining a listing of capital projects in process and track progress of projects
* Assisting in annual audits
* Ad hoc reports and other duties as assigned


* BA/BS degree in Accounting ; Graduate degree/CPA a plus
* Five plus years progressive Accounting experience
* Computer literate in financial application software
* Advanced skills in MS Excel required
* Strong knowledge of basic accounting practices
* Basic knowledge of fixed asset management, healthcare and joint venture accounting
